Borealis Carbonara, Mannetti pasta arrives in Iceland
Among his countless and unique expeditions, chef Cristian Sabatini (aka @bikechef) decided to spend a few days in January in the suggestive and very cold Iceland, during the Northern Lights period.
An evocative phenomenon that attracts many people: the globetrotting chef known for his culinary-themed trips could not miss this appointment for one of his native reinterpretations of the very famous pasta alla Carbonara .
On this adventure in the ice, Bike Chef decided to bring Mannetti pasta with him, choosing Mannetti Bio Mezze Maniche for an unusual, curious and courageous version of Carbonara pasta: cooking at minus 10 degrees and completing the recipe with tasting was truly a feat!
The recipe, revisited in a local style, with typical ingredients from Lazio and Iceland , included whale meat, delicate and quickly seared in a pan, and a cream made with egg, pecorino cheese and a local dairy product, Skyr, a yogurt with the consistency of cheese.
Cooked with an exceptional setting, in the dim light of the Northern Lights, and a whipping wind, the Icelandic cooking of Mannetti pasta was a success.
An amazing Borealis Carbonara that brought Mannetti pasta all the way to Iceland!
